OUR STORY

Katie ELLIOTT is a textile designer and artist based in RURAL NORTH Bedfordshire. Her designs are created in a variety of mediums and used across a wide range of markets for home decor, commercial interiors and fashion accessories.

It may surprise you to know that I didn't always have the capacity to create and design. After finishing university with a textile degree, I was completely unprepared for how competitive the textile industry could be and so I found work in various administration jobs.

Fast forward to February 2013 when both my kids started school and I finally had some time to make a few things. I was rusty ( it had been a 17 year gap!) so I started off small making hessian bunting.

And I also worked with my father selling, renovating and upholstering antique goodies - hence the name 'Oldhaus'. I quickly got tired of upholstery and the business merged into what it is today.

Katie Oldhaus has changed a lot over the years and there is not a day where I am not learning something new!

Using free hand machine embroidery, screen printing, and working from my lovely home studio, I create bunting, tea towels, bags, badges, wall hangings and prints - oh and even clothing ( yes I have a thing for clothing!)

Many of these handcrafted wall hangings and badges can be personalised too! You'll find me mainly selling online through my website but also through wholesalers, and at selected in-person events throughout the year. I'm so proud to be able to create these unique keepsakes that bring such joy and nostalgia. I love what I do and it's a real honour to be able to share it with the world.
