It's been a busy week, but one that has bought me so much joy in creating new products and the purchase of a foiling machine! ( more to follow on that)
I started making my own coloured fabric banners because I find them so easy to quickly trial out a new idea and work out how to plan a design and the great thing is that then I can produce fUrther products from these banners.
My first banner design recently added is a lovely bright and vivid Lemon design inspired by a photo I saw on pinterest. I made the orange fabric banner and made felt lemons and leaves and layered with white lemon flowers and leafs in glitter and matt VINYL.
It turned out really well and I have just finished making a pattern out of it in illustrator and it will be going off to be printed next week and made into cushions.
The second is THIS weird and wonderful 'HOLD YOUR HATS' banner. I have this fascination with old fairground art and typography. It's kind of a bit eery but also quite fun.
I made a pink backGround and layered it with a chequered red patterned vinyl. I found these amazing pictures of brass rivets on shutterstock, printed them onto a heat transfer to embellish the chequered background ( this was really satisfying!) All finished off with the 1930's based illustration from an old fairground. This one has also been developed and if off to the printer this week.
